Southern Pacific Diesel Locomotive Paint Schemes

Roseville/Taylor Repaints

This paint scheme is really outside the scope of this website, as it happened after the 1996 murder, sorry merger of SP into UP...

However, from posts to the SP list and other forums:

Short story is that some Roseville SP employees overstepped the mark and repainted some units in bad need of a new coat of paint, when management found out they stopped the exercise.

In a nutshell, the paint scheme was the same as standard SP diagrams without the red wings or the full roadname.

Locos known to have appeared in this scheme:

Paint:

  • Southern Pacific Scarlet
  • Southern Pacific (Dark) Lark Gray

Decals:

  • Standard SP decals should be ok, maybe something else for the Block SP
