The Del Monte

This information has been compiled from postings to the SP Mailing list by Jeff Cauthen.

The Del Monte was sort of a commute train that ran from San Jose to Pacific Grove. It was discontinued in April 1971. For many years she carried Train No.s 77 and 78, later changed to 126-139 and later still 126-141, these were San Francisco Commute service Train numbers.

This train also carried the famous "Oliver Millet" see references below.

Note: the train didn't turn at Pacific Grove so the running order was reversed returning to San Francisco
