DRGW also bought two orders of GP35's #3029-3038 in 1964, and #3039-3050 in 1965.

Originally delivered in small Rio Grande lettering, some later received the larger 'billboard' lettering.

#3029-3050 were downgraded to B unit status in 1972. B units do not require working radio's, toilets etc. maintenance cost-cutting...

These units were usually stored during times of excess motive power.

After the 'merger' with SP, some were leased to SP eg. #3048.
