Passenger Car Data:
SP classified passenger cars by their length, their service and by their order number. ie. 79-DL-1 - the length was of the passenger compartment only and did not include the vestibules if any or the diaphragms. The letters denoted which service they were in, ie. DL is a Dome-Lounge.
Examples:
- ACM = Articulated Chair Car - Men
- ACW = Articulated Chair Car - Women
- AD = Articulated Ding Car
- ADL = Articulated Dining-Lounge Car
- B = Baggage Car
- BD = Baggage-Dormitory Car
- BP = Baggage-Postal Car
- C = Coach Car
- CB = Chair or Coach-Baggage Car
- CBP = Chair-Baggage-Postal Car
- CC = Chair Car
- C3C = 3 Compartment Coach Car
- IC = Interurban Coach ? more usually known as Commute Coach or more commonly known as a Sub (Suburban ?)
- D = Dining Car
- DL = Dome-Lounge Car
- L = Lounge Car
- MLC = Multi-Level-Commute Coach Car
- P = Parlor Car
- PR = Parlor Car
- PRO = Parlor Observation Car
- O = Observation Car
- T = Tavern (Lunch-Counter) Car
