- Heavier loads are permitted when shipments move only on Southern Pacific lines (including Cotton Belt) and
certain connecting carriers. For information, contact your nearest Southern Pacific Traffic representative.
- Indicates coupled length of car.
- The two end hatches measure 20" x 15' 1¾", the center hatch 20" x 12' 7¾".
- Cars 490005, 490022, 490038, 490039, 490054, 490072 equipped with six 4½" dia. pneumatic unloading outlets, three each side of car.
- The two end hatches measure 20½" x 15' 2¼", center hatch 20" x 12' 8¼".
- Hopper openings are 34" x 31' 5/8", but the lading must flow around pneumatic device in hopper (See Fig.3). Working flow area is 664 square inches.
