#5039-5048 were all delivered in 1927, identical to the SP-2's. A Franklin C-2 booster was fitted to the Delta trailing truck.
Some SP-3's may have the main driver changed to a LFM Universal Disc driver.
Some received a second sand dome, 5 out of 10 lost their boosters in late 40's early 50's and the some got the feed-water heater replaced with a Worthington 4¼BL.
#5039-5048 were delivered with a 160-C-1 tenders.
