26 units rebuilt

Interestingly... #4100 was supposed to have a turbo'd 567 as rebuilt. Here we see a paper air filter and two exhausts, indicative of a non-turbo 645 rebuild...

These units were all written off by 1995, and no longer appear on the Roster...

A major point to watch for, is that there are/were 2 different rebuilds:

• those that retained the turbo'ed 567 engine: SP 4100, 4101
• and those that were given a non-turbo'ed 645: SP 4102 - 4125

The 645 re-engined units, have a paper air filter and 2 exhausts, 1 each side if the dynamic fan, the 567 turbo'ed units retain the single exhaust stack.

As the photo shows above, and some texts hint at, likely #4100 and 4101 went back to have the 567 turbo engine, changed to a non-turbo 645.
