1 SD35E and 9 SD35R's numbered in the 4700 series ended up being renumbered into 2961 - 2970 and assigned to Englewood Yard, Houston, TX. after being rebuilt from 6900 series SD35's in the period 1976-78.

These units, as are the SD35/SD35E's, are designated as switchers by Espee, so rarely leave their assigned operating area, in the case of the SD35R's, Englewood Yard in Houston, Texas up until 199?. the photo's from Alan Radecki were taken late 1997 at Taylor Yard, Los Angeles.
