SP Tunnel Motors came in many variations, short and long nose versions, with and without Locotrol, with and without exhaust silencers and bulged dynamic brake blisters, roof or underframe mounted bells and horn placement. (see table) and the photos.
Yunchi Hsaio recently brought to my attention that, there appears to be one order of short nose that received roof mounted bells, 8489 to 8498.
The post 1980 build Tunnel Motors came equipped with a 'Q' exhaust silencer to meet noise pollution requirements. This required a modified blister at the front of the dynamic brake, (I think for the dynamic brake contactors).
