7 units built between 1881 and 1882 originally numbered 1501-1507.
Built by Central Pacific for use on the suburban lines in Oakland.
Some ended up in Portland, Oregon; others converted to Shop Switchers.
All S-1 Class off roster by 1918.
SP developed drawings in 1900 for an 0-10-0 tank engine for use in East Bay commute service, presumably a replacement for Mr Stevens's 2-6-2Ts. They were identified as the Decapod type.
