Engine number 2356 is a T-31 class ten wheeler. The engines got a lot of local switching and freight service in later years. This early 1950's shot caught a light engine movement past the Niles tower.
Photo from the collection of Gene Deimling.

All built by Brooks in 1912, never renumbered and all were vacated by 1958.

#2353 and 2354 did work for the San Diego and Arizona Eastern.

According to 'Dunscomb's Century of SP Steam' - #2353 is at El Centro, CA. and #2355 on display in Mesa, AZ.

Late news from Russell Hedges: #2353 was given to the San Diego Railroad Museum by the city of El Centro, and has been restored to running condition.
